Not much. We noticed Sofie was a little "off" a week ago today and she continued to be lethargic and fussy for several days after. She & I had been running fevers and feeling lousy. She seemed to be better on Friday, but woke up the next morning congested and has been, in her words "really, really sick" since then.
Poor baby...first time being sick since she came to us in China. I think (hope!) I am finally heading in the right direction but now poor Baba is running a fever!
Our little Tootsie was so tuckered, she fell asleep in her box:

It's The Little Things...
Sofie loves Ni Hao Kai-Lan. We downloaded a few episodes on our laptop before we left for China and she wanted to watch them several times a day while we were there. We don't watch much t.v. and have no idea when and where the show comes on, but I found it "On Demand" recently and well, she got very excited!

Bay Area Aunties
Sofie has lots of aunts, uncles and cousins all over the country and is lucky to have aunties, uncles and a cousin that live close to us here in Northern California. She had met her Aunt Laura, Uncle Tom and their new son Will a few weeks back, and finally got to meet her Aunt Tracey at a BBQ over Labor Day weekend.
Aunt Jen came down from up north last month to spend some time with us...
Thanks for spending time with us ladies!
Sofie of course adores all her Aunties...she is looking forward to meeting Ye Ye Poppy, Miss Marla, Aunt Kris and silly cousin Andrew next month and hopefully all of her Virginia family before the year is up.

Silly Girls
Sofie & I headed down to the city Thursday to have lunch with Traci and Millie. Traci & I connected almost a year ago while we were waiting to bring our girls home. She kept me company (online) while I was climbing the walls in the hotel room in Inner Mongolia waiting for Sofie to arrive and we've kept in touch since then.
I wrote about Sofie's "crush" on Millie here...she asks to "look at Millie" every day, so it was very exciting for her to see Millie in person. And really great for me to finally meet Traci and see her and precious little Millie together.
It was so much fun to watch these two silly girls together. Traci thank you for sharing these beautiful photos with me. I look forward to many more moments like these!

Summer Days
We've been spending the hot days of summer doing fun things to escape the heat.
We went to the San Francisco Zoo last week...
Playing in the grass and fountains in town...
And splashing around in our new pool...
We're having a pretty good summer!

6 Months
Six months ago today we officially became a family. A friend recently asked me if it seemed like six months had already passed and I had a hard time answering that question. Most days it feels like Sofie has always been with us...we have a hard time remembering what life was like before we met our little monkey. The past six months went by in the blink of an eye...with lots of ups and downs.
