Sofie's First Halloween

We took our little Minnie Mouse to downtown Napa for some "getting her feet wet" trick or treating this afternoon.  She was a bit nervous and not sure what to make of all this Halloween stuff, until she saw it in action.  I think she kinda liked it!

We stopped for a bite to eat first...saw lots of kids in their costumes heading to the festivities and finally saw some smiles

Cousin Andrew & Aunties

Sofie met her Aunt Kris and Cousin Andrew this past week, which was very exciting.  Sofie and Andrew "Silly Skype" all the time, so it was great to see them together live and in person...finally!  We got to spend time with Aunt Jen too.  We had lots of fun!

Four Years Old

Today is Sofie's birthday!  It was one year ago today that we received our pre-approval to adopt her...I was so sad we were going to miss her 3rd birthday.  I can't believe she is four already!

We started the day with some breakfast and our birthday crown...



Then we headed out for Chinese lunch...crown and all





And grabbed some birthday cupcakes on the way home







We opened lots of presents...







And now Sofie is "cooking dinner" for us...



Happy Birthday baby girl!  We love you!  But seriously, you can stop growing up now...

More Family Fun

Some other things we did while Poppy and Nai Nai were here...

It was Yountville Days - a weekend full of events celebrating the town we live in.  We went to the park for lunch and then watched a parade...







Played with our silly Baba...





We took a walk to show Poppy & Nai Nai our cow friends and feed them some treats...

Sofie was treated to some goodies from her Grandparents...a new apron & cooking utencils

This week will be full of even more family fun.  Sofie has a birthday and Aunt Jen, Aunt Kris and Cousin Andrew will be here.  Stayed tuned for more!

Birthday Fun

Monday was my birthday and since Poppy and Nai Nai were here, Brandon & I took off for the day to do a little wine tasting...it was the first time we have left Sofie and had a day to ourselves in 7 months!  They had a great time...and so did we.  But I couldn't wait to get home to see my girl!





It's harvest time here in Napa Valley so we were able to see some interesting things like processing some zinfandel grapes...





Then we walked over to Bottega for a delicious b-day dinner.  Sofie ate lots of yummy things...





Yesterday, we headed down to Napa for some sightseeing and some lunch.







Poppy and Nai Nai went home this afternoon.  Thanks for coming to see us and spending lots of time with your new granddaughter!
